Pittsburgh Steelers legend Ben Roethlisberger knows what it takes to lead in the Steel City. The Hall of Fame quarterback, who steered the team to two Super Bowl titles, now eyes Aaron Rodgers as the new leader.

Rodgers, signed to a one-year, $20 million deal, threw for 2,143 yards and 15 TDs with the Jets in 2024. Now, “Big Ben” is urging him to take command in Pittsburgh.

Speaking on 93.7 The Fan, Roethlisberger pushed Rodgers to step up. “I want Aaron to own that locker room,” he said, per ESPN. “Leadership’s what’ll get us a seventh ring.”

Rodgers’ experience and poise shine at Acrisure Stadium. “He’s got grit, commands respect,” Roethlisberger said after visiting minicamp, per Steelers.com. Those qualities, he believes, can galvanize the squad.

Leadership in the NFL means inspiring teammates, a skill Roethlisberger, a two-time Super Bowl champ, mastered. “Be the voice at practice, first in the film room, last out,” he challenged Rodgers, per The Athletic.

With D.K. Metcalf and Christian McCaffrey fueling the offense, Rodgers’ play—highlighted by a 350-yard game in 2024—sets a strong base. “Aaron’s gotta elevate everyone,” Roethlisberger said, per Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Steeler Nation roared on X: “Rodgers under Ben’s challenge? Let’s go!” (@SteelerFanatic). “Aaron’s our shot!” (@BlackAndGold4). Rodgers’ clutch 2024 drives, like a game-winner to Garrett Wilson, spark hope, per NFL.com.

As Pittsburgh chases Super Bowl LX, Roethlisberger’s challenge fuels excitement. With Rodgers stepping up, the Steelers’ future burns bright. Stay tuned to ESPN for more!
