Over the next week, plenty of trades will be happening around the NFL. Now this could be with teams looking to acquire more draft capital, or after the draft with teams looking to add to their roster in an area that wasn’t addressed in the draft.

One of the surprising players that could find themselves being traded is current Dallas Cowboys cornerback, Trevon Diggs. While the Cowboys need cornerback help, Diggs could find himself on the way out and on a new team for the 2025 season. The ideal team for him then becomes the Kansas City Chiefs.

Trevon Diggs Will Be Traded to the Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs have been rather quiet this NFL offseason. One of their biggest issues last season was the cornerback spot as they lacked depth at the position. They went on to add Kristian Fulton via free agency, but they need more talent overall at the position, besides just Trent McDuffie to rely on.

Trevon Diggs is going to be coming off a knee injury, and this comes after he had a torn ACL in 2023 and various other knee injuries. With Dallas, they also need cornerback help, but they might be over the Diggs era due to his inability to provide consistency for their defensive scheme. This was showcased with them trading for Kaiir Elam.

With adding Elam it makes moving on from Diggs a bit easier. While Diggs hasn’t necessarily fit in with Dallas’ defense, if there is anyone that can bring the most out of Trevon Diggs, it would be Steve Spagnuolo.

Diggs hasn’t been fully horrible over his career, as he has allowed just a 61% reception rate for 2,756 yards and 19 touchdowns over five seasons. In addition, Diggs has accumulated 20 interceptions and 37 pass breakups.

Having Diggs’ ball hawk ability to pair with McDuffie on the Chiefs’ defense could create a promising duo for the coming seasons in Kansas City. This also allows Dallas to reset their cornerback room.
