Packers trade pitch lands $112 million four-time All-Pro

T.J. Watt: Steelers star's social media post sparks trade speculation

After T.J. Watt sent a strange message on his social media, posing with a peace sign, like Tyreek Hill has done in the past, many have suspected that he could be traded.

There's an interesting situation where the Pittsburgh Steelers could move on from him, but it's tough to justify. Watt has been just as good as any edge in the NFL over the past few years, and despite the injuries, trading him doesn't help the Steelers get any closer to winning a Super Bowl.

It's also tough to predict his value. On one hand, he's somebody that most teams would give up significant draft capital before. On the other hand, why trade for a guy who's dealt with the injuries he has?

Regardless, Watt has played games through injuries, and has produced, evident by his 22.5 sack season in 2021. He's coming off an 11.5 sack season, which is way below his standards, but he was still excellent, and would be loved by nearly every team in the NFL.

Searching for a potential trade, Andrew Vasquez of USA Today proposed the idea of him joining the Green Bay Packers, citing the message he sent on his social media.

"The Packers are in desperate need of a proven edge presence in 2025—and Watt, a Wisconsin native, makes too much sense here," Vasquez wrote.

Watt, a Wisconsin native, would be an awesome pick-up for the Packers.

Regardless of what the Packers would have to give up, there's reason to believe this could be a trade that puts them over the top.
