KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A former Chiefs star revealed a transformative mission in Liberia, funding schools and hospitals to uplift his homeland, sources told ESPN. His philanthropy, inspired by Chiefs Kingdom, inspires a legacy beyond football.

Tamba Hali said, “Thanks to the Chiefs, I’ve built over 500 schools and 4 hospitals in my hometown in Liberia. Back then, most didn’t know football—until I built a field to inspire kids with dreams.”

Drafted 20th overall in 2006, Hali’s 89.5 sacks and 5 Pro Bowls defined his 12-year Chiefs tenure. His Liberian roots fueled his mission to rebuild Yekepa, per Pro-Football-Reference.

Hali’s Tamba Hali Foundation, launched in 2011, funded education and healthcare. The Chiefs’ support amplified his efforts, building a football field to spark youth ambition, per The Kansas City Star.

Now 41, Hali’s 500 schools educate thousands, while 4 hospitals serve rural Liberia. “He’s changing lives,” a Chiefs official said, noting his impact post-retirement, per KSHB.

Chiefs Kingdom cheered: “Tamba’s a hero!” fans raved, per local reports. His work, rooted in Kansas City’s spirit, echoes after a 40-22 Super Bowl LIX loss.
