James Bradberry is Now a Bill

Report: Eagles Re-Sign CB James Bradberry to Three-Year Contract

Buffalo, NY – April 27, 2025 – A former Eagles cornerback, released after a Super Bowl LIX title, has signed with the Buffalo Bills, sources told ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. The veteran joins a contender’s secondary, aiming to bolster their championship push with his experience.

James Bradberry, cut in March 2025, missed 2024 with a torn Achilles. His 44 tackles, 3 interceptions in 2022 earned All-Pro honors, but a 114.3 passer rating against in 2023 led to his exit, per The Athletic. Buffalo saw untapped potential.

The Bills inked Bradberry to a one-year, $6 million deal, per NFL Network. Needing a CB2 alongside Christian Benford, they value his 19 career interceptions and past with coach Sean McDermott in Carolina, despite Rasul Douglas’ free agency.

“James adds savvy,” McDermott said. Bradberry’s 112 pass deflections could lift Buffalo’s 24th-ranked pass defense (226.1 yards/game). His 2022 51.6 passer rating against outshines Philly’s Andrew Mukuba, fortifying the Bills’ secondary for a title run.

Spadaro: James Bradberry explains how Philadelphia revitalized his career

Bradberry’s 2023 woes (11 TDs allowed) and injury raised concerns. “I’m revitalized,” he told PhillyVoice. At 32, his veteran presence supports Josh Allen’s Super Bowl quest, surpassing Eagles’ youth in Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean.

Buffalo views Bradberry as a bridge, eyeing draft prospects like Trey Amos. “He’s still elite,” NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah said. The Bills’ secondary, with Kaiir Elam, gains depth, challenging AFC East foes like the Jets, per Sporting News.

Philly’s cuts of Darius Slay and Bradberry freed $6.4 million, fueling Jihaad Campbell’s draft. The Eagles, with Kyle McCord added, prioritize youth, while Buffalo leverages Bradberry’s pedigree to chase a championship, per Bleeding Green Nation.

Bradberry’s move to Buffalo could ignite their Super Bowl hopes. His redemption rests on reclaiming 2022 form, strengthening the Bills’ defense to dominate the NFL’s toughest matchups.
