Buffalo, NY – May 14, 2025

HBO has announced a new biopic, Kelly’s Kingdom, set to bring the Buffalo Bills’ golden era to the screen in 2026. Oscar-nominated actor Ryan Gosling will portray legendary quarterback Jim Kelly, while Chris Hemsworth takes on the role of iconic head coach Marv Levy, sources told ESPN.

Kelly, the cornerstone of the Bills’ 1990s dynasty, led the team to four consecutive Super Bowl appearances from 1990 to 1993, an unmatched NFL feat. His tenacity and leadership made Buffalo a football powerhouse, earning him a Pro Football Hall of Fame induction in 2002.

Gosling, known for La La Land and Drive, captures Kelly’s fierce determination and charisma. Hemsworth, iconic as Thor, embodies Levy’s commanding presence, famously known for his rallying cry: “Where else would you rather be than right here, right now?”

“HBO is the perfect home to tell this story of resilience,” said director Ava DuVernay. “We’ll show the heart of Buffalo through Kelly and Levy.”

The Bills of the 1990s, driven by Kelly, Thurman Thomas, and Bruce Smith, became a symbol of grit despite their Super Bowl losses. Kelly’s Kingdom will highlight the K-Gun offense and Levy’s tactical genius, immersing viewers in that era’s emotional rollercoaster.

Bills Mafia, renowned for its unwavering loyalty, is electrified by the news. The announcement arrives as the Bills, powered by Josh Allen’s 4,306-yard MVP season and James Cook’s 1,086-yard rushing, aim for a Super Bowl title in 2025, echoing Kelly’s unfulfilled dream.

“This film will inspire our fanbase and players,” said Brandon Beane. “Kelly’s legacy still drives us today.”

Slated for a 2026 release, Kelly’s Kingdom promises to reignite passion for the Bills’ storied past, while the current team faces rivals like the Chiefs at Highmark Stadium. As Buffalo chases its first championship, Kelly’s spirit looms large.
