The Philadelphia Eagles have seen a ton of turnover with their roster this offseason, and AJ Brown’s name is one to keep an eye on.
He’s consistently in the headlines because of spats on the sidelines as well as wanting a massive target share, which is completely valid. Brown has proven that it isn’t a neccesity to be targeted often, but especially after winnning the Super Bowl, this will be pushed to the forefront. This is a PREDICTION, not a REPORT!
AJ Brown Trade Proposal
Eagles Receive: 1st Round Pick Minimum
The Seahawks got a 2nd rounder (#52) for DK Metcalf, but he was an impending free agent the following season, so Brown definitely would warrant a first rounder.
The smart move would be to keep Brown as he’s under contract until the 2030 season, but there is a world where Brown could want out.
Why Was the Super Bowl a Major Boost for a Trade?

AJ Brown has achieved the highest team award in the NFL, and going from a team in Tennessee who wasn’t winning anything to a team in Philly who won it all, it was a success. Now he’s at the point where he can look out for his individual self, and this is crucial.
After the Super Bowl, Brown made comments that showed his lack of true excitement about winning a Super Bowl. This isn’t to criticize Brown, but moreso to give the fans a look into the head of a star player like Brown:
“I wrote the post and it was just like, it wasn’t fulfilling,” Brown said. “It didn’t do anything for me. It didn’t do a lot for me that I thought. … Even watching people win Super Bowls, I’m like, ‘Oh they’re happy, they’re celebrating in the locker room, drinking and stuff.’
“I’m just like okay, alright that’s how I supposed to feel. And I’m in the locker room after we win… I’m trying to feel how I pictured it, you know what I’m saying? My expectations of it. And I was totally wrong. I even sat down in the locker room for a second ‘cause I got tipsy ‘cause I don’t drink… I was just like, ‘Man, this is cool but I’m ready to go.’” (Sports Illustrated)
This may seem counter-intuitive as you’d like to think players want to stay on great teams, but he could enter the phase of just wanting to be treated as a true wide receiver one when it comes to target share.
Eagles Potentially Add Luther Burden in the NFL Draft?
One target Philadelphia should have, regardless of a potential AJ Brown trade is Luther Burden. They could target the defensive line which makes a ton of sense for their roster, but adding Burden gives this offense so much more creativity in the pass game as he can immediately slot in as the wide receiver three alongside Brown and Smith.
The goal for potentially drafting Burden is that he’d develop into the star receiver similar to a Devonta Smith, and give the Eagles much more leeway when it comes to their receiver room.
Burden had one of the better receiving seasons in 2023, and despite a down season in 2024, he still led all of college football in missed tackles forced.
All in all, this is a prediction of the Eagles making the smart move to draft Luther Burden as the best player available, which could slowly begin a transition for AJ Brown out of Philadelphia.
