Who is Terrace Marshall Jr.? Eagles reportedly sign former star LSU receiver on 1-year deal

Former Raiders WR Set to Visit Tennessee Titans

The Philadelphia Eagles have added another young revitalization project to their roster in what has been an offseason full of low-key signings.

The latest is former LSU Tigers star Terrace Marshall Jr., 24, who has reportedly agreed to a one-year deal with Philly after flaming out in recent stops with the Carolina Panthers and Las Vegas Raiders.

The Panthers made Marshall the No. 59 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, looking to tap into a player who hauled in 23 combined touchdown receptions over his final two years at LSU, including a whirlwind ride to the 2019 national championship with Joe Burrow. He’s struggled throughout his pro career, however, due in part to ugly quarterback situations both in Carolina and last year in Vegas.

In Philly, the 6-foot-3, 200-pound Marshall will enter what should be an open competition behind starters A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith and Jahan Dotson in training camp. The Eagles drafted a pair of wide receivers on Day 3 of the 2024 NFL Draft, and while Johnny Wilson feels like a lock to stick with the team in 2025, the same can’t be said for Ainias Smith, who was selected in the fifth round and played just 96 total offensive snaps as a rookie.

Coming out of LSU, Marshall was considered a borderline Day 1 prospect with considerable upside as a traditional X-receiver and red zone target. He was a contested catch artist for the Tigers, earning an 82.3 red zone grade from PFF.

Marshall also tested extremely well during the pre-draft process, including a blazing 4.38-second 40 at his Pro Day.
