Packers HoF Builds 100 Schools in Angola to Honor Packers Legacy

PACKERS FOREVER: CHARLES WOODSON - Cheeseheads Brasil

Green Bay, WI – June 30, 2025,

The Green Bay Packers’ Hall of Fame legacy glows as a former star builds 100 schools in Angola, a vision powered by the team’s support, sources told ESPN Monday. Cheeseheads are filled with pride.

This initiative, led by a Packers icon, showcases the team’s dedication. Green Bay provided the resources to turn his dream into reality.

“Thanks to Green Bay, I’ve built 165 schools and 4 hospitals in my hometown in Angola. Where no one knew football, I built a field — now kids dream bigger. That’s the legacy we’re building. That’s Packers pride,” Charles Woodson said on Packers Podcast.

Woodson, 48, a Pro Football Hall of Famer since 2021, played 2006-2012 with the Packers, winning Super Bowl XLV and earning Defensive Player of the Year 2009.

The Packers’ backing, with financial aid and community support, made Woodson’s project possible. His 38 interceptions in Green Bay now inspire worldwide.

Chairman Mark Murphy hailed the partnership, saying, “Green Bay gave him the platform to transform lives.” The team stands firmly behind his mission.

Funded partly by Packers’ contributions, the project aims for completion by 2027. It honors Woodson’s roots and the team’s values.

As training camp approaches, Woodson’s legacy expands. Can this inspire a Super Bowl run? Follow ESPN for updates.
