James Bradberry, the veteran cornerback recently released by the Philadelphia Eagles, made a bold statement to remind fans of his role in the 2024-2025 season.
On the “NFL Total Access” podcast, Bradberry declared, “I was the cornerstone of our defense—my experience and coverage were vital for our Super Bowl LIX victory.”
However, Bradberry’s performance in the 2024 season starkly contradicts his claim, as he struggled significantly in a diminished role with the Eagles.
In 2024, he played only 5 games, recording 0 interceptions, 3 pass deflections, and allowing a 112.3 passer rating when targeted, per Pro Football Focus.
His coverage issues led to him being benched after Week 5, managing just 87 defensive snaps, a far cry from his 2022 Pro Bowl season with 3 interceptions and 17 pass deflections.
