The Philadelphia Eagles, fresh off their Super Bowl LIX triumph in February, are not resting on their laurels as they approach the 2025 NFL Draft with high expectations.
General Manager Howie Roseman and the Eagles front office have already made several significant moves this offseason, including signing veterans like Za’Darius Smith and Azeez Ojulari to bolster the pass rush.
With the draft set for April 24, a recent mock draft by A To Z Sports writer Destin Adams predicts the Eagles will land a steal at the No. 32 overall pick, the final selection of the first round.
Adams projects that the Eagles will select Alabama linebacker Jihaad Campbell, a standout defender who could elevate an already formidable defense that ranked among the league’s best in 2024.
Campbell, a star for the Crimson Tide, recorded 112 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, 5 sacks, and an interception in 2024, showcasing his versatility and playmaking ability across the field.
Despite concerns over a recent left shoulder surgery, which has clouded his health outlook for the start of his NFL career, Campbell remains a projected first-round talent, likely in the 20-30 pick range.
Field Yates of ESPN noted, “It hurts to see Campbell wait this long; he’s a top-25 prospect, but the Eagles could pounce on this talent, just like they did with Zack Baun, forming a potential linebacker trio with Baun and Nakobe Dean.”
Roseman’s knack for drafting defensive stars, combined with the value of Campbell at No. 32, could solidify the Eagles’ linebacker corps, ensuring they remain a dominant force as they aim for another Super Bowl title.
