Emmitt Smith, a former running back for the Dallas Cowboys and a Pro Football Hall of Fame member, has had enough of Philadelphia Eagles fans.

The Eagles have found plenty of success in the last eight seasons. They have been to the postseason seven times, claimed three NFC titles, appeared in three Super Bowls, and hoisted two Lombardi Trophies.

Unfortunately for the Dallas Cowboys, the team has won 5 playoff games since 1997. Their record in the playoffs since 1996 is 5-13.

It’s been nearly 30 years since the Cowboys appeared in an NFC championship game. It has been quite bad in Big D.

Like the rest of the fan base, Hall of Fame running back Emmitt Smith is not happy about any of it.

“I’m sick of it,” the Cowboys great said recently on Dallas sports talk radio station 96.7 FM The Ticket.

Smith does not like Eagles supporters being so loud about their success.

“We have allowed others to nitpick at the star [logo] and make fun of the star … Now all of a sudden, over the last 20 years, [the Eagles] win two Super Bowls, and they think they’re the best thing on the planet, and everywhere I go I hear, ‘Go Birds.’ I’m sick of hearing ‘Go Birds.’

“I’m always asking where are you going? You still got a long way to go to catch us.”

Emmitt Smith played most of his 15-season career with the Cowboys — earning eight Pro Bowl honors and four first-team All-Pro nods. He was also named the league’s Most Valuable Player in 1993.

The Dallas Cowboys Haven’t Experienced Real Success Since Emmitt Smith Was Playing On The Team

Dallas’ last appearance in an NFC championship game came in the 1995 NFL season.

Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin, Leon Lett, Deion Sanders, and standout running back Emmitt Smith were on that team.

No one would’ve guessed that the franchise would embark on such a long stretch between championship games, which are still ongoing.

The Cowboys haven’t been to the Super Bowl or an NFC championship game since Jan. 14, 1996, when they won Super Bowl XXX.

The Eagles’ success has left the franchise fuming over why they cannot seem to get things right.
