Philadelphia, PA - April 21, 2025 - The Philadelphia Eagles have secured a cornerstone of their offensive line, reaching an agreement with Pro-Bowl center Cam Jurgens on a four-year, $68 million extension, the team and his agent, Ryan Tollner, announced today. The deal, which includes $39.4 million guaranteed, ties Jurgens to Philadelphia through the 2029 season, reinforcing the Eagles’ commitment to their championship-caliber roster.
Jurgens, 25, has emerged as one of the NFL’s elite centers since taking over as starter in 2023 following Jason Kelce’s retirement. A 2022 second-round pick from Nebraska, Jurgens earned his first Pro Bowl nod in 2024, anchoring an offensive line that powered the Eagles to a 14-3 record and a Super Bowl LIX victory. His PFF overall grade of 82.4 ranked third among centers, with a run-blocking grade of 85.1 fueling Saquon Barkley’s record-setting 2,005 rushing yards.
“Cam’s our rock in the trenches,” head coach Nick Sirianni said. “His toughness and leadership embody Philly.” Jurgens started all 21 games in 2024, allowing just two sacks across 1,200 snaps while excelling in both pass protection and run blocking. His synergy with Jalen Hurts, Jordan Mailata, and Lane Johnson made Philadelphia’s line the NFL’s best, per PFF’s unit rankings.
The extension, with an average annual value of $17 million, places Jurgens among the top-paid centers, behind only Creed Humphrey ($19 million AAV) and Frank Ragnow ($18 million). The $39.4 million guaranteed reflects GM Howie Roseman’s strategy of locking in young talent, as seen with Saquon Barkley ($20.6 million AAV) and DeVonta Smith ($25 million AAV). With $60 million in 2025 cap space, the Eagles structured the deal to maintain flexibility, with a $7.8 million cap hit in 2025, per Spotrac.
Jurgens’ durability—he’s missed only one game since 2023—addresses concerns about an aging line, with Johnson (34) battling injuries. The loss of Mekhi Becton to the Chargers further underscores Jurgens’ value as a stabilizing force alongside Mailata.
“This is home,” Jurgens said in a team statement. “I’m honored to play for Philly and chase more rings.” As the Eagles prepare for the 2025 NFL Draft, where they hold pick No. 32, Roseman’s investment in Jurgens signals a trenches-first approach, ensuring the offensive line remains a strength in their quest for back-to-back titles.
