With the 2025 NFL Draft officially over, all 32 teams will spend the next few days signing undrafted free agents and inviting players to rookie minicamp.
The reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles made 10 picks in the draft (six on defense), but are using the undrafted free agent period to take a few fliers on multiple skill players on the offensive side of the ball.
On Sunday, Aaron Wilson of KRPC-2 reported that the Eagles have invited former Sam Houston State Bearkats wide receiver Ife Adeyi to rookie minicamp. The 5-foot-8 wideout has explosive speed, running an official 4.35 40-yard dash at his Sam Houston State pro day, but also had an unofficial time of 4.28.
Since he’s a rookie minicamp invite, Adeyi must show out and perform to earn a spot on the 90-man roster for training camp. The rookie wide receiver played five years at Sam Houston State, being used as a pass catcher and in the running game.
Last season, Adeyi had 30 receptions for 271 yards and a touchdown. He added 76 rushing yards and a score on the ground. Over his five-year stint with the Bearkats, Adeyi had 164 receptions for 2,312 yards and 19 touchdowns, along with 306 rushing yards and four TDs on 36 carries.
Despite his size (5-foot-8, 181 pounds), Adeyi is a good route runner with the speed to take the top off the defense. He also has special teams experience handling kick and punt return duties over his five-year collegiate career. For a rookie minicamp invite/tryout player, one of the ways to make a roster is on special teams.
Philadelphia could use another speedy wideout on the roster, to go with Jahan Dotson and Ainias Smith, who the team drafted last year in the fifth round. The former Sam Houston State standout has a tall challenge to make the 90-man roster, but the first step is putting on a good showing at rookie minicamp.
