Buffalo, NY – May 14, 2025
Former Buffalo Bills star Stefon Diggs has ignited a firestorm, vowing to exact revenge on his ex-team after signing with bitter AFC East rival, the New England Patriots, sources told ESPN. Diggs’ comments come ahead of a highly anticipated 2025 matchup.
Diggs, traded to the Houston Texans in April 2024 after four stellar seasons with the Bills, signed a three-year, $69 million deal with the Patriots in March. The move stunned Bills Mafia, who once adored the wideout for his 1,535-yard 2020 season.
"I’m going to humiliate the Bills in the most embarrassing way possible,” Diggs told NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. “They’ll regret trading me.”
The trade, which sent Diggs to Houston for a 2025 second-round pick, left a sour taste. Despite recording 5,372 yards and 37 touchdowns with the Bills, tensions with Josh Allen and sideline outbursts hinted at deeper issues, culminating in his departure.
Diggs’ 2024 season with the Texans ended early due to an ACL injury, limiting him to 496 yards in eight games. Now recovered, the 32-year-old aims to prove his worth with the Patriots, alongside ex-teammate Mack Hollins, also signed this offseason.
The Bills, coming off a 2024 AFC Championship loss to the Chiefs, face a revamped Patriots squad led by quarterback Drake Maye. With James Cook’s 1,086-yard rushing and Allen’s 4,306-yard MVP campaign, Buffalo remains a Super Bowl contender.
“We’re ready for Stefon,” Brandon Beane said. “He’s a competitor, but we’ve moved on.”
The 2025 away game at Foxborough promises to be electric, as Diggs seeks to deliver on his revenge pledge. With off-field drama, including dating rumors with Cardi B and assault allegations, Diggs’ return to face the Bills will be a must-watch showdown. Follow The Sporting News on WhatsApp for updates.
